 Rules of preposition

In এর ব্যবহার

👉বড় স্থানের পূর্বে in বসে।
যেমন : He lives at Dhaka in Bangladesh.
N.B: এখানে ঢাকা ছোট এবং বাংলাদেশ বড় তাই বাংলাদেশের আগে in ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

👉বাংলা এ/য়/তে বিভক্তি থাকলে in বসে।
যেমন : Many things happen in life.
N.B: জীবনে অনেক কিছু ঘটে। এখানে জীবন এর সাথে এ বিভক্তি থাকায় in ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে ।

👉ভাষা বুঝালে তার আগে in বসে।
যেমন : I speak in Bangla / in English / in Hindi.

👉পেশার পূর্বে in বসে।
যেমন : Karim has joined in Police / in Army.

👉বিষয়ের পূর্বে in বসে।
যেমন : Karim studies in English / in Mathematic.

👉বছর / মাস / সপ্তাহ / সাল এর পূর্বে in বসে।
যেমন : Kazi Nazrul islam was born in 1899.

👉Result এর পর সাধারণত in বসে ।
যে সব যানবাহনের মধ্যে হাটাহাটি করা যায় না তাদের পূর্বে in বসে ।

👉শুধুমাত্র একটি গ্রাম/শহর বুঝালে in বসে।
যেমন : He lives in village. But his son lives in a town. 

👉সকাল / বিকাল / সন্ধ্যার পূর্বে in বসে।
যেমন : in the morning, in the evening, in the afternoon. 

👉ভিতরে স্থিতি বোঝাতে in বসে।
যেমন : Karim is in the house.

👉ঋতুর পূর্বে in বসে ।
যেমন : in winter, in spring.

👉রং/কালির পূর্বে in বসে।
যেমন : in white, in black ink.

👉সীমার ভিতরে বোঝাতে in বসে।
যেমন: Dhaka university is in the heart of the city. 

👉নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের পূর্বে/পরে বুঝাতে in time বসে। 
যেমন : The train came in time.

👉Interest / interested এর পর in বসে।

On এর ব্যবহার

👉বার / দিন / তারিখের পূর্বে On বসে।
On Friday / on 27th November.

👉উপলক্ষ্য অর্থে On বসে।
On birthday / on marriage day / on the occasion. 

👉কিনারে/ তীরে বুঝাতে On বসে ।
My village is on the river.

👉খাড়া কোন দেয়াল / জিনিসের গায়ে কোন কিছু ঝুলানো / লাগানো হলে তার আগে On বসে।
There is a picture on the wall.

👉নির্ভরতা বুঝাতে On বসে।
We live on rice.

👉কোন কিছুর সঙ্গে ধাক্কা খেলে তার আগে On বসে।
He hit his head on the piano.

👉সুনির্দিষ্ট সময় বুঝালে On বসে।
The plane arrived on time. 

👉Avenue এর পূর্বে On বসে। 

👉Floor এর সংখ্যা বুঝাতে On বসে। 
The bulding is on the 7th Floor.

👉রেডিও বা টেলিভিশনের কোন অনুষ্ঠানে কথা বলতে On ব্যবহার করা হয়।
I saw the talk show on televison.
👉সম্বন্ধ বুঝাতে On বসে।
He wrote an essay on leberation.
👉কোন কমিটির সদস্যপদ বুঝাতে On ব্যবহার করা হয় ।
There are ten member on the committee.

👉সীমার উপর বুঝাতে On বসে।
The Himalays is on the north of India.

👉মাধ্যম বুঝাতে On বসে।
On the phone On T.V, On computer.

👉কোন কিছুর উপর স্পর্শ অবস্থায় উপরে বুঝাতে On বসে।
The book put on the table.

👉যে সব যানবহনের মধ্যে হাটাহাটি করা যায় তাদের মধ্যে বুঝাতে On বসে ।
on the bus, on the plane, on the train.
Cycle, Foot এর পূর্বে On বসে ।

👉Insist এর পর on বসে। এরপর Sub এর possessive + Verb এর সাথে ing হয়।
উৎসব এর আগে On বসে ।
On pohela Boishakh.

at এর ব্যবহার

👉ছোট স্থানের পূর্বে at বসে ।
He lives at Mirpur in Dhaka.

👉দাম/মূল্য বুঝাতে at ব্যবহৃত হয় ।
at five hundred Taka/ at 20 tk per kg.

👉ভ্রমন করার সময় কোন শহর থেকে যাওয়া বা যাত্রা বিরতি বোঝাতে শহরের পূর্বে at বসে ।
I stopped at Faridpur on the way to Dhaka.

👉দুরত্ব বুঝাতে atবসে ।
Dhaka is at 200 kilo miters here.

👉তাপমাত্রা বুঝাতে at বসে ।
at 0° c / at 100°c.

👉ঘড়ির সময় এর পূর্বে at বসে ।
at 10 o clock / at five o clock.

👉বয়স বুঝাতে atবসে।
at 22 / at 10.

👉দায়িত্ব বুঝাতে at বসে ।
You must do this at your own risk. 

👉dawn/Noon/night এর পূর্বে at বসে।

👉p.m/a.m এর পূর্বে at বসে ।

👉number / Road number / house number এর পূর্বে at বসে।

to এর ব্যবহার

👉ব্যক্তিবাচক শব্দ যেমন ( his, him, her, them, our, us) এর পূর্বে সাধারণত to বসে ।
কোন স্থানে আসা এবং যাওয়া বুঝালে to বসে । 
He goes to school.

👉কে / দিকে / এর / প্রতি - প্রভৃতি অর্থে to বসে। 
Strong attraction to harmful things. 

👉ব্যক্তির কাছে বুঝালে তার আগেto বসে । 
Mina came to me.

👉বাকী থাকা বুঝাতে to বসে ।

👉এখন ১০টা বাজতে ১৫ মিনিট বাকী ।
Now it is quarter to 10.

👉সীমানার বাইরে বুঝাতে to বসে।
Korea is to the east of our country.

of এর ব্যবহার

👉বাংলার ৬ষ্ঠী বিভক্তি র/এর প্রকাশ করতে of বসে।
A dairy is a record of daily events. (দিনপঞ্জি হলো প্রতিদিনের ঘটনাবলির একটি তথ্য)
এখানে ঘটনাবলি + র যুক্ত হওয়ায় of ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।
👉Article + Noun এর পরে of বসে।
The reading of this book is interesting.
👉অধিকার / মালিকানা বোঝাতে of বসে ।
This is the mobile of Mr. Jahangir
👉Assure এর পরে of বসে।

by এর ব্যবহার

👉পাশে বুঝাতে by বসে।
You sit by me.
👉দ্বারা/দিয়া/কর্তৃক প্রভৃতির জন্য by বসে।
The city is polluted by smoke and dust. 
👉কোন উপায়/পদ্ধতি বুঝাতে তার আগে by বসে।
By hard work.
👉and/or এর পূর্বে এবং পরে একই preposition বসে।
These drugs are taken by smoking or by injection.
👉হার বুঝাতে by বসে ।
He is developing day by day.
👉written/edited/headed এর পরে by বসে ।
written by / edited by.
👉নিজে নিজে অর্থে by বসে । 
She lives by herself. 
👉পরিমাপ বুঝাতে by বসে ৷ 
10 feet by 14 feet. 
👉ব্যক্তির দ্বারা কাজ বুঝালে by বসে ।
Rice is eaten by me.
👉যানবহনে ভ্রমন বুঝালে by বসে ।
By bus / by train / by boat.
👉ভবিষ্যতে নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের আগেই বুঝাতে by বসে ।
I will have finished by the time you get back.
👉কারো কাছে সময় জানতে by বসে।
What is the time by your watch?

Over এর ব্যবহার

👉কোন কিছুর উপর দিয়ে কোন কিছু যাওয়া বুঝালে over বসে।
The cat jumped over the table.
👉কোন কিছু স্পর্শ না করে উপরে/ উপর দিয়ে গতিশীল বুঝাতে over বসে।
The plane is over the field.
👉বড় বস্তুটির উপরে লেগে থাকা বুঝালে over বসে ।
There is a blanket over the baby.
👉বিপরীত পাশ বুঝাতে over বসে। 
They live over the road.
👉কোনো কিছু দিয়ে কোন কিছুর ঢেকে ফেলা বুঝাতে over বসে। 
There were ashes all over the floor. 
👉সমগ্র/সারা অর্থ বুঝাতে over বসে। 
I have traveled over the world. 
👉মোবাইল/ফোনে কথা বলা অর্থে over বসে । 
He requested me over telephone.

Above এর ব্যবহার

👉অনেক উপরে বুঝাতে above বসে ।
The sky is above our head.
👉কোন কিছুর উপরে স্থির আছে কিন্তু স্পর্শ নেই এমন বুঝালেabove বসে । 
She held the umbrella above her head.
👉মানের উপরে বুঝালে above বসে ।
I got above 80% mark in Bangla.
N.B: কোন কিছুর উপর দিয়ে গতিশীল বুঝালে over বসে এবং স্থির বুঝালে above বসে ।

with এর ব্যবহার

👉সাথে / নিয়ে/ দিয়ে বুঝাতে with বসে।
She lives with me.
👉জন্মসুত্রে অধিকারী বুঝাতে with বসে।
The girl endows with blue eyes. (মেয়েটি জন্মসুত্রে নীল চোখের অধিকারী)
👉কোন ব্যক্তির উপর রেগে গেলে angry এর পরে with বসে।
👉Busy এর পরে সাধারণত with বসে।
👉কেউ কোনো রোগে ভুগছে সেই রোগের নামের আগে with বসে।
Tariq  was in bed with cholera.
👉কোন কিছু দিয়ে কোন কিছু ভর্তি/ ঢেকে দেওয়া বুঝাতে with বসে। 
I filled the glass with water.
👉কোন কিছু আর ব্যবহার না করলে তার আগে with বসে। 
I dispensed with my old mobile.

From এর ব্যবহার

👉কারো নিকট হতে অথবা কোন স্থান হতে/ থেকে বুঝালে ব্যক্তির বা স্থানের আগে from বসে ।
I have taken this car from uncle.
👉Suffer/ Suffering এর পরে সাধারণত from বসে।

Into এর ব্যবহার

👉বাইরে থেকে ভিতরে প্রবেশ বুঝাতে into বসে।
The student entered into the class room. 
👉তদন্ত অর্থে into বসে।
The police is looking into the case.
👉সংঘর্ষ বুঝাতে into বসে ।
The car crashed into a parked bus.
👉সংখ্যায় ভাগ হওয়া বুঝাতে into বসে ।
They were divided into five groups. 
👉জোড় করে / ভেঙ্গে প্রবেশ করা অর্থে into বসে।
The thieves broke into my house.

Through এর ব্যবহার

👉কোন কিছুর মাধ্যমে / মধ্য দিয়ে বুঝাতে Through বসে।
We went to india through the forest.
👉কোন কিছু ভেদ করে কোন কিছুর যাওয়া বুঝাতে Throughবসে।
The bullet went through his chest.
👉এক প্রাপ্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্ত পর্যন্ত কোনো কিছু চলা বুঝাতে Through বসে ।
We walked through the Forest.

Up এর ব্যবহার

👉নিচ থেকে উপরে গেলে Up বসে।
We went up the hill.

off এর ব্যবহার

👉কোন কিছু থেকে পড়ে বা সরে যাওয়া বুঝাতে কিছু কিছু verb এর সঙ্গে off বসে।
He fell off the chair.
He was walking off the chair.
👉বাস/ট্রেন/বিমান থেকে নামা/ পড়ে যাওয়া বুঝাতে off বসে ।
You should not get off a running train. 
He fell off the bus.

within এর ব্যবহার

👉নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্য দিয়ে বুঝাতে within বসে । 
I will come back within 3 hours.

UNDER এর ব্যবহার

👉নিচে অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে under বসে।
Let's sit under the tree.
👉কোন কিছুর নিচে বুঝাতে under বসে।
She left her key under a mat by front door.
👉বিবেচনাধীন অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে under বসে।
The case is under court.
👉সোজাসুজি নিচে হলে under বসে, আর একটু দূরে সরে নিচে হলে below বসে।

Against এর ব্যবহার

👉বিরুদ্ধে/ বিপক্ষে/প্রতিকুলে বুঝাতে against বসে । 
We fought against Pakistan in liberation war.

Beside এর ব্যবহার

👉পাশে অর্থে প্রকাশ করতে beside বসে।
She sat beside me.
👉অতিরিক্ত অর্থে beside বসে।
Besides Rahim, Karim came.

For এর ব্যবহার

👉জন্য বুঝাতে for বসে।
I want to buy a mobile for you.
👉সময়ের আগে ধরে/যাবৎ/ব্যাপিয়া বুঝাতে for বসে।
It has been raining for two hours.
👉কারণ বুঝাতে for বসে।
He will come to Dhaka for buying a car. 
👉মূল্য বুঝাতে for বসে।
I have bought a shirt for 1000 tk.
👉বিনিময় বুঝাতে for বসে।
He sent me a cheque for tk 500.

Among এর ব্যবহার

👉দুইয়ের অধিকের মধ্যে বুঝাতে / তুলনা করতে among বসে। 
Divide the apples among three boys.

Behind এর ব্যবহার

👉পিছনে অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে behind বসে।
Please stay behind me.

After এর ব্যবহার

👉পরে অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে after বসে।
I will play after study.
👉চলমান অবস্থার পিছনে বুঝালে after বসে। 
Police run after the criminal. 
👉কোন কিছু পাওয়ার জন্য ছুটলে after বসে।
Some people hanker after riches.

before এর ব্যবহার

👉পূর্বে অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে before বসে। 
She came before launce. 
👉সম্মুখে বুঝাতে before বসে।
She stood before me.

Beyond এর ব্যবহার

👉সাধ্যের বাইরে অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে Beyond বসে। 
The price of the dress is beyond my budget.

about এর ব্যবহার

👉সম্বন্ধ অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে about বসে । 
He told me about the picture. 
👉প্রায় অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে about বসে।
The movie is about end.

across এর ব্যবহার

👉কোন সমতল ভূমি/এরিয়া অতিক্রম করা বুঝালে across বসে।
He ran across the field.

along এর ব্যবহার

👉কোন লাইন বরাবর বুঝালে along বসে।
He ran along the road with full speed.
👉যে সকল word এর আগে to বসে না
👉Home নিজেই adverbial of direction হয়। তাই এর আগে to বসে না । 
Here, there, Now, Somewhere, abroad, upstairs, downstairs এগুলোর আগে to বসে না ।
বিঃ দ্রঃ (From here to there)ব্যতিক্রম।
👉Paint এর পর কোন preposition বসে না।
👉Discuss এর পর কোন preposition বসে না।
👉Senior, Junior, inferior, Superior, exterior, interior, ulterior,  major, minor, inner, outer, latter, elder, hinder - to বসে।

কারেকশন :
কেদে = cry over
চিন্তা করা = brood over, pounded over
যত্ন সহকারে = poring over
সভাপতিত্ব করা = preside over 
নিয়ন্ত্রন করা = Control over
